Over the last 3 months TOPCATS have been busily trying to raise funds for the young people, some of the fundraising being done BY the young people.
The September Summer Ball 2016 was held at the Hotel Victoria on Saturday 17th September 2016. It was a successful night working together with 3 other charities from the local community; Warren School Association and Ollie’s Heroes. The night was an amazing one, with Wedding Inspire decorating the room beautifully, Vibration Roadshow did the disco, Catch 22 were the live band and we had auction and raffle with some absolutely amazing prices. Overall, each charity raised a total of £1901.66 each!
A recent Christmas Craft Fayre organised by Children’s Manager, Anne-Marie at TOPCATS HQ raised £263. The day was a success with a variety of stalls, some owls that were available to hold, hot drinks and hot refreshments and a visit from Father Christmas.
Anne-Marie also organised a quiz held by the staff at a local pub, The Norman Warrior. The quiz, along with some pub games raised £180 for TOPCATS
Our Service Manager, Grace along with other staff members and young people who attend TOPCATS organised and performed in a show using the Seagull Theatre in October. The young people were involved in a lot of the choices and decision making and performed a variety of acts including singing, dancing and acting. Tickets were sold and the evening of entertainment raised £196. Our Adult Service Manager, Carolyn raised a further £20 by making and producing some DVD’s of the show for parents/carers.
Carolyn also made Christmas Cards using the young peoples art work which raised £20 and inked up with a family member, Pauline who makes scarves who sold them at our Craft Fayre and raised £18 for TOPCATS.
A recent Coffee Morning hosted by our young people at TOPCATS to thank other people for their support and donations made £63. The morning was attended by various people and they all enjoyed meeting our young people, seeing TOPCATS and munching on delicious treats and a nice hot drink.
Our Choices group organised a sponsored walk to the Claremont Pier and back. They decided that they should wear their onesies and got sponsored by friends and family. They were raising money to fund their Christmas Meal out as well as their secret Santa. They managed to raise a fabulous total of £194.
Our Transitions group also held one for their regular restaurant evenings where they cook a 3-course meal for friends and family and wait on them. They join in later for the food. This was to raise money for their Christmas trip to the panto. They raised £40!
In just under 3 months, TOPCATS staff alone have raised £2470.66!!!! Including all the other fundraising by Young People and groups the grand total we have raised over 3 months for our fundraising efforts is …
