Following the success of our Transitions group’s first restaurant evening back in November our young people were keen to hold another! Last Saturday saw TOPCATS be transformed into a Mexican restaurant, complete with sombreros and Mexican music!
Restaurant evenings allow the young people to invite their parents/carers to Topcats for the evening to enjoy a freshly cooked meal and to give their parents/carers an insight into what the group gets up to. These evenings also provide a much-appreciated fundraiser to continue providing the group with new and exciting activities!
The young people spent the afternoon preparing and cooking a Mexican-themed meal for their parents/carers, consisting of nachos, chilli con carne with rice and chocolate cookies and ice cream! Alongside this, they laid tables, produced personalised name places and decorated the dining room into a Mexican restaurant.
Upon the arrival of the parents/carers the young people (who are all dressed very smartly!) take their drink and food orders, and wait upon their tables before enjoying the meal sat with their families.
Our young people worked extremely hard to make our second restaurant evening another success and we look forward to holding our summer restaurant evening in June! Thank you to the parents/carers for your continued support!
