Our super hero son, Cameron.
Cameron has Autism, Global developmental delay, sensory processing disorder and from September 2018, type 1 diabetes. Every day is a struggle for Cameron, but he never complains ( well not much!). The last few months have been pretty tough for us as a family and with the very limited respite on offer, in this area. We as a family were finding it, increasingly difficult to lead any kind of ‘normal’ life, outside of caring for Cameron.
Topcats have given us the chance to spend some much need quality time with Cameron’s, older sister. Having a child with additional needs is a struggle and a challenge most of the time, but after Cameron was diagnosed with diabetes, we were extremely limited as to who could offer us any respite.
Fortunately they were eager to learn, and have completed the diabetes training. Allowing him to use the after school club and the gap sessions on Saturday. With out services like topcats. We as a family would find it a great struggle, in finding the correct care, for Cam.
Cameron’s story was shared by his Mum, Marie.
